Kèr Jàqqizàq (/ˈʤəqqi/ /zəq/ [range; radius; extent] [sense]) is a subtropical Town located in the Kveviēid Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Kèr Jàqqizàq is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Jàqqizàq was founded by Idi Wynney, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Jàqqizàq has a yearly average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 34°C (93°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 27°C (80°F). Kèr Jàqqizàq receives an average of 145 cm/y (57 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Kèr Jàqqizàq covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1284 m (4212 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Jàqqizàq was founded durring the early 14th century in winter of the year 1306, by Idi Wynney. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Idi Wynney.

Kèr Jàqqizàq was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Jàqqizàq is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Jàqqizàq is buildings folow an organic layout of premissive canals streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Kèr Jàqqizàq's size could have. Kèr Jàqqizàq's well-designed, yet cheep are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Kèr Jàqqizàq gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable. Beneath this surface, the people of Kèr Jàqqizàq can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Kèr Jàqqizàq places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual.

Kèr Jàqqizàq has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kèr Jàqqizàq's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Kèr Jàqqizàq possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Kèr Jàqqizàq's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.

Kèr Jàqqizàq's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Kèr Jàqqizàq has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kèr Jàqqizàq's natural decorations nor waterways.

Kèr Jàqqizàq has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Kèr Jàqqizàq has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Jàqqizàq's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

In Kèr Jàqqizàq all of the cats speak the local language with prefect diction.

Kèr Jàqqizàq's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves sacrificing an animal to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 2 via proclamations.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Lake Rila began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which brought great calamity to the entire nation, killing every person and animal in its path which could not escape the cloud. Oddly, the plants of the region flourished in the years after the disaster. The disaster brought an end to people, livestock, and buildings. The disaster is referred to as the Horror Wind.
